SWREDA’s 2017 Annual Conference in Baton Rouge was titled Navigating the New Norm. It focused on changing trends in economic development. Sessions planned included workforce development using apprenticeship programs, global business opportunities through inland and water ports, cybersecurity for businesses and cloud-based applications for EDDs, and a look at how to how to develop a food industry cluster. The Economic Development Administration (EDA) Austin staff hosted Grants On-Line and EDA 101 sessions.
